Walkabout Ends in Tenby

May 22, 2018

Our Walkabout finished this morning in the seaside town of Tenby, Pembrokshire, South Wales.

During the last four days we hiked along the Welsh Coastal Path from Whitesands Beach, where there still remains the foundation of the small church that Patrick established in the 6th century. Patrick was Welsh, and was kidnapped by Irish pirates early in his life, he returned to Wales after his escape five years later and sailed to Ireland from this headland to become a missionary. A glade of Bluebells and Wild Garlic scented this grove of woodland as we passed through. A birthday celebration last night at a Tenby restaurant for one of our Walkabouters! Leaving on the train this morning for Swansea & Cardiff.
