Long Eared Owl
The sounds and calls of the bird world can be very therapeutical!
Crossing over a small stone bridge on a walkabout in the mountains of North Wales last October I heard the call of a Long Eared Owl! Other than the sound of the creek below it was the only interjection of sound into the darkness that surrounded me. I shall never forget that moment. Strangely enough one tuned up in our backyard here in Minnesota two weeks ago! The picture was taken by Sue Flether from the Owl Center in Houston MN.
There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but nature more....
Lord Byron
