Saxons and Romanos

A few years after the Roman exit of the British Isles during the 5th century is when the Romano British warrior chief Arthur appeared to fight against the Saxon invaders. His heroic deeds were recounted by story tellers and became richer and more embroidered with each telling. His Saxon enemies would have called him Wealas (foreigner) from where we get the word “Welsh”. The name today in Welsh for the English is Saeson. During the next nine days our Wild Wales Walkabout team are on the ground here in the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales creating a Walkabout in early October 2018 to visit some of the warriors haunts.
